Woodblock Chocolate is the creation of the wife and husband team of Jessica and Charley Wheelock. They met doing antique restoration and both had an affinity for the intriguing potential of a raw material – wood. That is where the name Woodblock comes from. The potential of raw material led them to cacao. For Jessica and Charley, making chocolate from the bean was more like realizing a dream they did not even know they had. Established in 2010, Woodblock has grown to a comfy manufactory and café in the Irvington-Broadway District of Portland. All of their bean to bar chocolate is made with two ingredients, cacao and pure cane sugar. Try the Malted Milk bar consisting of 45% Peruvian cacao with malted barley.
