Houston Chocolate Academy offers a professional introductory 40-hour chocolatier course. Two options are offered: a one-week intensive course, Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; or a weekend course consisting of 4 consecutive weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuition is $1,520. Private classes can be scheduled. Tuition is $2,000. The course is an introduction to beginning and intermediate chocolate making and is not suitable for students already experienced in chocolate making. Sarah Ali started the Academy in January 2017 due to the lack of hands on chocolate making classes in the United States. Sarah’s extensive research revealed that available classes were expensive, disjointed, too long or simply focused on training pastry chefs rather than focusing on basic chocolate making techniques. The Houston Chocolate Academy is an intensive hands-on five-day course that teaches basic chocolate making in a small group (no more than 5 students) personalized setting.
